Calendar

Here are all the key dates and application deadlines in this year’s business awards organized by Best in Biz Awards.

Companies can submit any number of entries to any of the categories across all Best in Biz Awards programs each year, including our 16th annual North American awards and 14th annual International awards. Entering and/or winning one of the Best in Biz Awards annual programs does not preclude a company from participating and potentially winning in the other program, in the same or different award categories.

Champions in AI 2026

Because of our entrants’ increased focus on and achievements in AI, increasingly displayed across recent years’ entries, we have launched a new awards program focused specifically on AI. This new program is completely separate from Best in Biz Awards – where appropriate and relevant, the same award entries may be used across all the programs listed on this page.

About Best in Biz Awards

Since 2011, Best in Biz Awards has been one of the most prestigious awards programs in North America and globally and it remains the only independent business awards program judged only by well-known writers and editors from a wide spectrum of top-tier publications. Yes, you read it right – our judges are not regular mid-level business professionals, they are esteemed members of the press, with years of experience researching and evaluating companies and thus best equipped to crown the most deserving winners and discover the next big business success.

Best in Biz Awards judges ranged from Associated Press – through Businessweek, CNET, Consumer Affairs, Fast Company, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, Inc., Network World, PC Magazine, Reuters, San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, Wired, Woman’s Day – to the Wall Street Journal. You name it, we’ve had them on our judging panels over the past 15 years.

From ADP to Zappos, winners in Best in Biz Awards since 2011 span the business spectrum, from recognizable global brands through mom-and-pop shops and Shark Tank sensations to some of today’s most cutting-edge start-ups. Among the many notable winners over the years: 1-800-Flowers, Aflac, AT&T, Best Western, Burger King, Chipotle, Citrix, Dell, Dyson, Epson, Ernst & Young, Experian, Hilton, HP, IBM, LifeLock, Microsoft, National Association of Realtors, Planet Fitness, Safelite, Sandisk, Santander Bank, Sheraton, StubHub, Symantec, UnitedHealthcare, Wells Fargo, YMCA, and more.

Submission process

Any company based in or operating in U.S. or Canada is eligible to apply in any of the more than 100 company, department / team, executive, product and CSR, media, PR and other business award categories across all our 2026 business awards programs, including our 16th annual North American awards.

Companies from any industry based anywhere in the world are eligible to apply in the 14th annual International awards, Champions in AI and Greener Awards.

A few frequently asked questions about the submission process in Best in Biz Awards:

Eligibility in our business awards

01

Who should submit in Best in Biz Awards?

Any company can submit in our business awards, regardless of the company’s size, industry, funding status or geographic location within the awards region. Companies can self-nominate – public relations, marketing and advertising agencies can also submit on behalf of their clients or themselves.

02

My company’s headquarters is outside the U.S. and Canada, but the majority of our business is conducted within the region. Are we eligible to apply in Best in Biz Awards?

Yes. Best in Biz Awards honors are conferred in two separate business awards programs: North America and International. Any company based anywhere in the world can apply in our International business awards.

For the North American business awards, a company needs to have business presence or operations in the U.S. or Canada. Companies whose headquarters might be located outside the U.S. or Canada, but which have offices or conduct sales in the region, are still eligible and can submit their entries.

03

Can winners in prior Best in Biz Awards programs submit again?

Of course! Former winners can apply again in the same or different business awards program, and in the same or different business award categories. Each year’s business awards programs attract a different pool of entries and are judged by different judging panels, so former winners are certainly encouraged to compete again for the honors. In fact, past awards can often be used as a supporting point in your new award submission.

Submitting your business award entries

04

How do I submit for Best in Biz Awards?

The nomination process is simple both for award first timers and prior honorees of other international, national or local business award programs. A simple submission with three parts – 500-word description of why your company deserves to be a winner, 100-word background on the company or nominee, and supporting links – can be easily submitted online in our online entry system or emailed to us directly. For more details on what should be included in your awards submission, please see our submission process explanation.

05

How can I write an award-winning business awards entry?

If we had to summarize the key to a successful business award entry in three words, we’d say: bullet points – stats – testimonials (ok, that was four words). In a slightly longer summary: 1) use bullet points in your business award entry for easy readability, 2) use data, numbers or statistics whenever available, 3) short case studies or customer/user/employee quotes can take your entry to another level, 4) more does not always equal better – focus on the quality of your award submissions or supporting links instead of the word count or quantity. For more tips, see our short guide on how to craft award-winning entries.

Business award deadlines and fees

06

Is there any difference between the three deadlines?

The only difference between the three business awards deadlines – early, regular and late – is the entry fee price. Entry fees get progressively more expensive (by $50), because the later deadlines offer entrants additional time to craft and fine tune their entries and also because the judging panel is revealed during the later award submission periods (with returning judges revealed during the regular entry period and the full judging panel announced during the late entry period). Regardless of when they are submitted, all entries are judged identically.

Judging

07

How is Best in Biz Awards different from other business awards programs?

Best in Biz Awards is the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications, from North America and around the world.

From Associated Press to the Wall Street Journal, Best in Biz Awards each year assembles a judging panel composed of a who’s who of prominent reporters and editors from the most respected press publications.

08

Why are only members of the press judging this business awards competition?

Best in Biz Awards’ uniqueness stems, in part, from the composition of its judging panels. Each year, only editors, writers and contributors to business, consumer, financial, trade and technology publications, as well as broadcast outlets, are invited to serve as judges.

Other business awards programs might be judged by mid-level business professionals. Yet others by writers from a single publication. Best in Biz Awards is the only business awards program judged by the most knowledgeable panels, composed only of members of the press – and representing the most varied views, from different publications. We believe the press are best suited to objectively evaluate the business awards entry pool and choose the very best from among the submissions.
